Uyen Thu is a Vietnamese-born Canadian who currently resides in Toronto. Her diverse interests and aptitude has led her to become accomplished in diverse industries:

  • Wireless Communications
  • Web & Mobile App Development
  • Tech Entrepreneurship, Founder & Advisor
  • Culinary Arts & Catering
  • Social Marketing & Communications
  • Writing & Publishing

Notorious for constantly solving other peoples problems and over committing to work, she underwent major health complications between 2009 and 2015 which sent her stumbling away (unwillingly) from her tech career and into focusing on improving physical health, mental health, and overall well being. Over the past 3 years, she has reversed her diagnosis of cancer and diabetes through gradual changes in lifestyle and explorations of western & eastern medicine, holistic health which in turn meant the discovery of philosophy, spirituality and self-awareness and meeting many inspirational people along the way.

Writing & Publishing Career
Always an avid blogger and traveler, she has lived in Waterloo, Vancouver, San Francisco, Singapore and Ho Chi Minh City over the years. She became the founder and managing editor of an online food magazine, YouCook.ca in 2010 which detailed interviews and recipes from the most talented chefs in Toronto and Vancouver.

She published her first book in 2011, My Quest for Yummy Banh Mi, after a successful Kickstarter campaign.

Presently, she is working on writing a book about how she has managed to overcome her health challenges and reverse cancer (though, it really is an on-going process she has yet to master 😉

She is also a Book Marketing Manager for Booktrope.com to help other authors successfully build their brand and market their books.
